An ideal experience for nature lovers looking for an accessible adventure, combining trekking and paddling in one of the most beautiful landscapes of Tierra del Fuego.
We depart from Ushuaia along Ruta Nacional N°3 toward the Garibaldi Pass, crossing valleys, forests, and panoramic views of the mountain range. From there, we begin an approximately 4 km hike, featuring uphill sections and typical mountain terrain that includes stones, peat, and some mud.
Along the trail, we will reach the Twin Lagoons (Lagunas Gemelas) and various natural viewpoints offering incredible vistas of Lake Escondido and Lake Fagnano. At the highest point, we will share a warm drink and a trail box lunch while enjoying the surroundings.
Afterward, we return to the vehicle to head to the shores of Lake Escondido, where we will enjoy a hot lunch before prepping for the paddling experience. The single or double kayaks/boats are stable and easy to handle, so no prior experience is required. For about an hour, we will paddle through the calm waters of the lake, taking in the landscape and connecting with nature in a unique way.
The activity includes round-trip transfers from your accommodation in Ushuaia, a mountain guide, a trail box lunch, hot lunch, trekking poles, technical equipment, personal insurance, and the necessary waterproof gear for the excursion.
⚠️ In case weather conditions do not allow paddling (strong winds or heavy rain), the activity will be replaced by a hike to the Velo de la Novia Waterfall (Bridal Veil Waterfall) a beautiful excursion through native forest where you can discover cascading waters and enjoy one of the most special corners of the Río Olivia area.
💪 Difficulty Level: Low to Medium. A basic physical condition is recommended to walk at a peaceful, steady pace on mountain trails with uneven terrain.
